The first name that resonated with fans was Stefanos Tsitsipas on the ATP Tour and Ons Jabeur on the WTA Tour. The fans’ aspirations were high, hoping to see both players make the leap from Major Finalists to Major Champions with Federer’s guidance.

For Tsitsipas, a fan envisioned Federer working on improving his backhand swing, including the block return, slice, pace absorption, and flattening it out. The Greek star’s all-round game already bears resemblance to Federer’s, and a collaboration between the two could be a recipe for success.

On the women’s side, the same fan hoped Federer could help Ons Jabeur make better decisions during matches and choose the right shots, especially when the pressure is on. Jabeur’s unique style combined with Federer’s experience would be a fantastic match. Jabeur has reached 3 Grand Slam finals, 1 US Open and 2 consecutive Wimbledon finals, yet a Grand Slam title is something that she is yet to clinch.

While some fans were practical in their choices, others couldn’t help but indulge in fantasy scenarios. Several fans expressed their desire to see Federer coaching the likes of Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu.

Despite his injury struggles, Murray remains a fan favorite, and seeing him under Federer’s tutelage would be a dream come true for many. As for Raducanu, her meteoric rise to stardom captured the tennis world’s hearts, and Federer’s experience could nurture her immense talent further.

Interestingly, some fans believed that if Federer became a coach, he might prefer working with women’s players first. Ons Jabeur’s name popped up again, showing how much fans believe in the potential of this partnership.

Another player fans mentioned was Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion. Fans think that Federer’s coaching could take Rybakina’s game to a whole new level.

A fan even suggested the current Wimbledon champion, Carlos Alcaraz and the man with the highest number of Wimbledon titles in ATP history would make a great duo.

And, of course, the wild fantasy of every person who has ever picked up a tennis racquet has this dream. A fan hilariously quipped that he wants Federer to train him.

While the chances of seeing Federer take up coaching may be slim, the tennis community can’t help but hold onto a glimmer of hope. In the past, the Swiss maestro has spoken about his reservations but also left the door slightly ajar for possibilities.
