After his US Open triumph, the young Spanish sensation has once again cliched another major title after outshining Novak Djokovic in the British Slam. While amassing various titles in the men’s circuit, the 20-year-old player has further entrenched his position at the number one spot of the ATP rankings.

Taking note of his remarkable prowess and achievements on the court, many popular figures in the tennis realm are now lauding the 2 singles Grand Slam champion. The list also includes the childhood coach of Venus and Serena Williams as he recently drew a ‘Compton comet’ comparison between Alcaraz and the American tennis legends.

The legendary American coach, Rick Macci has never held himself back when it comes to lauding many young tennis players. In his recent assessment of the young Spaniard, the 68-year-old was singing praises for Carlos Alcaraz’s “lightning bolt” shots on the court.

On his Twitter account, Macci said, “@carlosalcaraz is the single most appetizing LIGHTNING BOLT to the tennis menu since the Compton Comets Venus and SERENA.”

In the process, the seven-time USPTA national coach compared Alcaraz to the Williams sisters, who grew up on the courts of Compton under his tutelage. Macci suggested that the 20-year-old player’ dominating game style is similar to that of the American tennis icons.

The WTA coach further asserted that Alcaraz will be an inspiration to many kids and young athletes in the tennis circuit. Macci said, “He will motivate and stimulate more kids to learn every shot.”

This is not the first time the American coach lauded Alcaraz as he has long been a fan of the Spaniard, even prior to his major triumphs in the men’s circuit.

Williams sisters’ former coach also compared Alcaraz to the ATP legends

Even in the previous season when the Spaniard didn’t have any major title in his bag, Macci was all praises for him on Twitter. While hailing Alcaraz as a dominant figure on the court, the 68-year-old coach compared him to the ATP legends, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

The USPTA national coach said that the young tennis star has wrapped up various elements of these tennis greats’ game styles on the court. Particularly, the American tennis legend’s on-court techniques and strokes as Macci asserted that the 20-year-old player possesses similar skills.
