The reigning NBA MVP is the frontrunner for this season’s MVP as well, alongside Joel Embiid. The 27-year-old Serbian is reportedly set to sign a supermax contract extension this summer.

Nikola Jokic has been in insane form this season. He fell behind Sixers star Joel Embiid in the MVP ladder a few weeks but gained the top spot last month with his performances. Jokic has been pivotal to the Nuggets’ project for the future and they want to bind him to a long-term contract.

The ‘Joker‘ is a four-time NBA All-Star and has a good chance of winning his 2nd straight MVP award this year. He signed his last contract with the Nuggets back in 2018-19 for five years. Now, a recent report has revealed that he will sign a contract extension worth $241 million in the summer. This means he will make around $50 million per season and this has surprised fans on social media.

The ‘Joker’ is currently averaging 25.4 points, 13.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.4 steals. The Serbian center is also shooting 56.7% from the field and has been the mastermind behind the Nuggets this season. What’s more impressive is he is averaging a double-double this season (for the fourth time).

Jokic has also bagged 16 triple-doubles this season so far. Despite his status in the NBA, he prefers to stay away from social media and the limelight. Jokic instead lets his performances speak for himself.
