From the beginning of this season, the Brooklyn Nets have been an expert favorite to compete with the Bucks for the Eastern Conference top seed. While the Bulls are making a surprise run for the top seed, the Nets always felt shorthanded in the absence of Kyrie Irving. The Nets received a boost with Kyrie Irving’s half comeback where he could only play in away games. This was a breath of reassurance for the Nets supporters.
However, according to reports, the Nets may have found a loophole to bring Kyrie back permanently. A negligible fine for what the Nets aim to accomplish with Kyrie is something the front office may be considering.

According to the New York Daily, the Nets will have to pay some negligible fines if they play Kyrie Irving in home games. Considering there are 21 home games left in the season, a meager amount close to $100,000 will be due.

Had Kyrie missed all the home games, the total loss to him would’ve been estimated to be around $15 million. Therefore, the fines are much lesser than the fines being imposed on Kyrie to miss games. If the team refuses, Kyrie can himself pay these fines too. Therefore, we can confidently say that the Nets will definitely consider this option.

What does this mean for the Brooklyn Nets?
The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a surprise defeat to the struggling Trail Blazers. While Kyrie was a part of the team in that game, they missed Harden‘s contribution to carry them all the way. Durant played great as well but could not carry the entire offensive load alone.
In their next game, the Nets face the Chicago Bulls who are in a streak of their own. Since they are currently the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Nets should look to bring their best game tomorrow. Therefore, the NBA community could rejoice his full return if only the Nets decide to pay this fine.
