As Mountain From Game of Thrones Unleashes His New 116,000-Worth Gym, Rare Equipment by Westside Barbell Is Strikingly Noticeable: “Very Cool for Heavy Guys”

Hafthor Bjornsson was recently in the news for his terrible chest injury caught live on social media. The Game of Thrones icon was trying to break his own record by performing a bench press with 556 lbs of weight. To the shock of onlookers, the exercise caused a tear in the pectoral muscles that needed surgery. The Strongman Champion updated fans with his recovery process as he slowly made his way back to training.

Now, to the delight of his supporters, ‘The Mountain’ has taken to social media to reveal his gym expansion. He has also bought some expensive gym machines that will take his fitness to greater heights.

The six foot 9 inches tall Viking is on a career-high and inclined to strengthen his bodybuilding community through ‘Thor’s Power Gym’ in Iceland, which was opened in 2019. Earlier, on YouTube, the European Strongman had introduced new additions to his gym ordered from Rogue Fitness worth $116,000. The 32-year-old went to each exercise machine and explained its USP, while still wearing an arm sling.

The Mountain was especially proud of the piece of equipment called the ‘Westside Barbell Pro Inverse Curl’. He revealed that this machine is specifically useful for big guys. “This one is very cool for the heavy guys. It’s called the inverse Pros by Westside Barbell bought it from Rogue Fitness…..this piece is originally made from West Side Barbell,” explained Bjornsson. He further revealed that Bill Henniger, owner of Rogue Fitness, has a collaboration with Westside Barbell.

Talking about the merits of the equipment, the Viking added, “I think this piece right here was made for big guys because big guys have a hard time doing this specific moment part of it because you’re so heavy but this is awesome.” The inverse curl targets the lower body area, the hamstring specifically, and also prevents injury in those areas.

In this strength exercise, body weight acts as an added advantage against the resistance of the machine. Moreover, explaining the mechanics of the movement, the powerlifter added, “It’s a killer for the hamstring absolute killer”. Looks like Bjornsson can’t wait to try out the exercises himself. The Icelandic hero is a beast when it comes to working out. However, he also engages in various other ventures, including video games.

The powerlifter collaborated with Sabre Games and dropped a game version of the ‘Mountain’. Now the gaming community can play against the Mountain Avatar in the Legends at War (LAW) video game. They chose Hafthor for his sword-wielding skill and Strongman background. Around 100,000 players joined the game in February. The Icelandic Strongman also participated in the “Conquer the Mountain” challenge in the game.

Keeping true to Nordic legends, Bjornsson’s display of strength is a reminder of his power and rigor. Arguably nothing is impossible for the Viking, be it lifting atlas stones or a thirty-two-foot log that weighs 1,433 pounds. Despite a serious injury, the Game of Thrones actor has no intention of slowing down.

Through his expanded gym, Bjornsson is contributing to the strongman community. From starting a gym in a small place to equipping it with state-of-the-art strength training machines, the legend has come a long way.
