Flex Wheeler shared a heartfelt note on his Instagram

Bodybuilding fans root not just for the IFBB pro’s monster-like physique on the Mr. Olympia stage but also for his fortitude. The life of the Sultan of Symmetry is no short of a roller coaster ride where he had to face obstacles one after the other. But none of his crises could dampen his spirit to become a champion.

Standing as tall as 5’9″ with all his muscular glory, he impressed his fans with unparalleled symmetry and aesthetics. Despite not winning Mr. Olympia during his prime years, he left a mark of inspiration among sports lovers with his physique.

Now the four-time Arnold Classic champion is proud of his physique from his prime before his health issues ruined his career. Sharing a glimpse of his shredded frame from the gym, in his prime, he self-praised his ripped avatar. “Even I have to admit, I was a sight to see,” he captioned his Instagram story while sharing a post that showed him working out in the gym, and arguably no bodybuilding admirer can deny what he mentioned. However, the community could not see much of Flex Wheeler on stage because of his health issues.

Flex Wheeler’s cycle of fortune and tragedy 

Despite growing up in poverty and facing child abuse, Wheeler focused on his passion for sports to build an impeccable future for himself. His illustrious bodybuilding career, however, wasn’t an easy ride. In 1994, he was saved from a life-threatening accident, followed by carjacking in 1997.

His bodybuilding career ended when he was diagnosed with kidney issues. He also had a part of his leg amputated. Though he left the sporting arena, he recovered from his lows and took to coaching bodybuilding aspirants.
