The science behind winning a bodybuilding competition might not always be strictly dependent on just genetics and sculpted physiques. According to Rich Gaspari, there might be another major aspect to this as well. The former IFBB Pro bodybuilder recently revealed how he had beaten guys who had better physiques than him. In the process, he also revealed how posing was one of the most important and final aspects of a bodybuilding journey, yet this is not emphasized upon by most bodybuilders.

Rich Gaspari has had a glittering career in the sport with several bodybuilding titles under his name. The 60-year-old bodybuilder had some of the most celebrated rivalries in the sport’s history, the major one being with Robby Robinson. In his interview, he decoded the simple answer to whether one can win a show with better poses.

The three-time runner up of Mr. Olympia confessed how he had managed to place higher than genetic beasts like Robby Robinson and Bob Paris. He further stated, “I think if they are close into one guy better, say have better genetic shape, but the other guy can pose better and present better, Yes.” He also reflected how although his competitors were known for having the best physiques, he was able to outpose them.

Furthermore, Gaspari also pointed out how he presented himself better on the stage than those with better genetic shapes by simply hiding his flaws. He even added that in the Classic Physique category, if a participant can present themselves better by hiding their flaws and imperfections like Gaspari did, then surely they will win.

Rich Gaspari talks about his documentary

In an interview with Flex Lewis, Gaspari briefly talked about his upcoming documentary, which has been in the making for the past three years now. He stated, “You know my history I am a guy who never gives up. It’s about moving forward even when you have setbacks and that’s what the documentary is about.” He further added how the documentary was all about his transition from an unknown guy to his rise in the bodybuilding industry.
