After Losing 50 Lbs, Joe Rogan’s 200 Lbs Comedian Friend Cites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Mark Wahlberg to Explain How Fitness Leads to Success

If you are a fan of comedy, then you surely know the hilarious comedian and writer Tom Segura. Fans would also know that right now he is into bodybuilding, and in the best shape possible. The Cincinnati-born comedian was once 50 pounds heavier, and he also had a running joke about his weight. The standup comedian was extremely busy with his gigs, the traveling it involved, and his podcast. This led to him not caring for his health.

After getting fed up with his lifestyle, made a huge decision to change his life. Tom decided to take up fitness and prioritize his health. Now he has lost 50 pounds and looks younger than he did before. In a recent podcast, the comedian and Joe Rogan’s best friend answered how fitness leads to success.

In the ‘Mark Bell’s Power Project’ podcast, Tom Segura, Mark Bell, Nsima Inyang, and Andrew Zaragosa talked about fitness. They also talked about how Tom managed to lose so much weight and maintain his present chiseled state.

During this discussion, Nsima asks him about the connection between his life as a comedian and the change in his lifestyle. He asked, “Recently, you changed your shape. You look younger now than you were 10 years ago. Did your skill in other things change at all? Or is it just like you’re in better shape and that’s the big deal?”

The comedian turned fitness enthusiast gave an honest answer. Segura narrated, “I’ve heard people say that discipline in one facet of your life will bleed into the other parts of your life.” He also gave examples of other actors and comedians who introduced fitness into their lifestyles and gained success in the discipline.

He said, “Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, The Rock, all those guys are like very disciplined with their health.”

So, according to the standup comedian, concentrating on exercise, and being disciplined in life, is the key to maintaining health. However, he said he was not a true fitness enthusiast.

Not a fitness enthusiast

In the same podcast, the comedian reflected on the fact that some people are enthusiastic about fitness and health, and make their career out of it. However, others just require fitness for their benefit and to stay healthy. 

He realized he was in the second category, and accepted the fact that there should be a distinction between the two categories of people. However, the fitness community embraces all kinds of people who want to get healthy and Tom himself benefited from it.
