In the realm of bodybuilding, the epic rivalry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Serge Nubret holds a special value among the fans of the golden bodybuilding era. Both icons left an indelible mark on the sport and inspired a lot of lifters to pursue their dreams of stepping on a professional stage. Discussing the legacy of Nubret and Schwarzenegger, 4X Classic Physique Chris Bumstead revealed his opinions on a hypothetical question about who will be the better athlete in today’s time.

During a podcast interview with fitness YouTuber Chris Williamson, Bumstead made a bold claim that Nubret might have outshined Schwarzenegger if both athletes were born in the 1990s.

Chris Bumstead gives his views on Serge Nubret VS. Arnold Schwarzenegger

During their competitive years, Serge Nubret and Arnold Schwarzenegger achieved remarkable accomplishments. Nubret claimed titles such as Mr. World, NABBA Pro Mr. Univers,e and even earned runner-up in the ’73 Mr. Olympia, losing to Arnold. ‘The Austrian Oak’, on the other hand, won 7 Mr. Olympia titles as well as 5 Mr. Universe titles. Both legends left a legacy behind them that continues to inspire bodybuilders to this day. Classic physique champion Chris Bumstead recently answered an imaginary situation involving the duo. Bumstead chose his sides and stated that Nubret, A.K.A., The Black Panther, might prove to be a better athlete in today’s era.

“What would be interesting is if you can put Arnold to be born in 1990 and then come up in this time,” stated Bumstead. “With all those stuff (genetics) now what will he look like? Serge Nubret would be an even bigger freak. Arnold’s the goat, cause he did it first, but I think Serge Nubret would be like insane in our generation,” concluded CBum.

Both Nubret and Schwarzenegger hold their place in the history of the sport, with each contributing unique elements to the sport. Bumstead’s claims come out of a curiosity that all lifters have in their minds. In his curiosity about how these legendary bodybuilders will place against modern mass monsters, Chris once stated that he can beat Arnold Schwarzenegger at his prime with his Mr. Olympia 2022’s physique.

Chris Bumstead’s current body measurements are the same as those of Schwarzenegger during his prime years. A few months ago, on the Full Send podcast, Cbum revealed his take on the potential Arnold vs. Bumstead debate. He revealed during the podcast that he feels “honored” when being compared to the GOAT. Further, he revealed that if it was the 70s, “he (Arnold) would win.”

But if Arnold were to compete in CBum’s prime with his 2022 Mr. Olympia physique, the scenes would have been reversed. “If he were to come today and compete against me last year at the Olympia, I think I would beat him because he’s not in shape enough,” added CBum.
