The bodybuilding sphere holds a pool of golden memories that shall be cherished by the community for years to come. Moreover, some moments are particularly treasured by athletes personally because of the person’s significance in their lives. Similarly, in a recent YouTube interview, the bodybuilding pro Lee Priest recollected a great memory with his late friend and bodybuilder.

The video was shared on IFBB AMA, and the athlete was asked to recall fond memories from his earlier days. Thus, he remembered his late good friend and bodybuilder, Eddie Giuliani, while also referring to his epic scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1977 hit documentary, Pumping Iron.

Lee Priest opens up about his fondest memory

After a brief discussion about Gold’s gym owner, Joe Gold, and his antics, the Australian athlete recalled former athlete Guiliani and the great times they had shared in the past. Sadly, the athlete passed away at the age of 87 after having inspired the bodybuilding world for years. Priest shared that he was among the few people who got invited to Eddie’s house, and recalled it as being a secret location like a bat cave.

He also revealed that the late athlete was really fond of cars. An iconic way of remembering Eddie was to recall his hilarious scene in Pumping Iron when he jumped into Arnold’s arms.

“he was the one on pumping iron that jumps in Arnold’s arms in the beginning of Pumping Iron,” Priest said while cherishing the memories. Notably, the late bodybuilder also earned The Austrian Oak’s fondness during their training sessions together. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s eulogy for Eddie Giuliani

After Guiliani passed away on May 5, 2022, Arnie penned down a heartfelt note for his favorite training partner on Twitter. The athlete was deeply saddened by the news and couldn’t help but recount the great times they’d had spent in the gym. Arnie shared two pictures of him with Eddie, one in their youth, whereas the other displayed the two old former bodybuilders.

“Eddie Giuliani was one of my favorite training partners…I loved watching him become a successful trainer and inspiring others. I’ll miss Eddie, but I’m so grateful he was part of my life and he’ll always be here with me,” the note on his Twitter post once read.
