“Can’t Lift a Broomstick That Fast”: Lifting Community Expresses Disbelief Over Hafthor Bjornsson’s 771 Lbs Speed Deadlift

Hafthor Bjornsson didn’t win the Arnold Classic this year but left the bodybuilding community thrilled with his stunning performance. Days after the event, he has now shared a video of his speed deadlift of 771 Lbs, which took over the internet.
Even though Bjornsson came in fourth at the Arnold Classic, he is all ready to step into the Arnold Classic UK the next week. He confirmed his participation through a recent Instagram post on his official page. The video Bjornsson posted, was part of his preps for one of the events at the competition.

“I’m competing at @arnoldexpouk and one of the events is 350kg deadlift for repetition,” Thor wrote in the caption of the video while giving a glimpse of his training. Signifying the buzz that was around with Bjornsson’s upcoming participation, the Arnold Expo UK’s official page also reposted his video.

They captioned the video, “@thorbjornsson hitting a 350kg deadlift speed rep with ease.” Thor did the deadlift with such comfort that it looked like child’s play. His coach was guiding him throughout the lift, which made it much easier for him to implement the raw strength correctly.

In his update, Thor had a question for his fans as well. “How many reps will win the event?” he asked. While fans did not have a definite answer, there was no dearth of interesting answers in the comments section.
Fans think it will be a cakewalk for Bjornsson
One fan highlighted the speed at which Bjornsson speed-deadlifted 771 Lbs, saying, “I dont know how many, but what I do know is that it looked like 135lbs with how fast it went up.” Another wrote about how he wanted to see Bjornsson at the next event pushing more and said, “God I would’ve loved to see you at britians doing the 400kg for reps.” One admirer hinted at how smoothly Thor lifted the weight, commenting, “Go get your trophy next event!“

Another Instagram user emphasized Bjornsson’s speed while lifting the bar and said, “I can’t lift a broomstick that fast!” One talked about the strength Thor possesses by explaining that “They have a device they use to lift the bar he just lifted in order to remove the weights….” He added, “That’s how heavy it is, and how strong this guy is.”
One simply wrote, “Bro you can do at least 20 reps for fun.”
