While it is extremely important to follow a strict and planned diet in order to achieve your fitness goals, balance plays a much bigger role than just discipline and consistency. There is no denying that following a strict diet can be mentally challenging after a while. To keep things balanced, it is essential to take a cheat meal every once in a while to ensure that you can continue with your strict diet after a much-needed break.

Talking about the importance of this, Hollywood star and fitness icon Dwayne Johnson gave his take on cheat meals in an episode of ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.’ As a resurfaced clip from the episode made its way to the internet, let’s take a look at an exciting analogy used by ‘The Rock’ to describe cheat meals.

Apart from having a huge fanbase from the realm of WWE and Hollywood, ‘The Rock’ is also a renowned and reputed name in the fitness and bodybuilding sphere. Thanks to his ripped physique, despite being 51 years old, his discipline and ‘never give up’ mentality continued to motivate countless individuals in their fitness regimen. While he follows a strict diet and an intense training split, he suggests taking a cheat meal every once in a while.

Talking about cheat meals, ‘The Rock’ stated, “I mean, the cheat meals. It’s like, it’s like church. You know? It’s like church to me because you workout hard and once a week you treat yourself and then you know I partake in that.” He added to this by revealing, “Yeah. And I just…I open my computer and I sit there but here’s the thing I have to wait till they’re everybody’s asleep. That’s the way I got to do it…so at like midnight.”

Back in 2017, Dwayne Johnson was invited as the guest on an episode of ‘The Late Show with James Corden’ which was hosted by Bryan Cranston. Amidst many other topics that the duo discussed on that episode, Johnson also gave insights into why he prefers training alone instead of using a public gym.

The Rock said, “I do, as the matter of fact because training in public gyms just became too much of a crazy zoo.” He further added, “So I figured out was the easiest thing to do was to just create a gym and make sure that travels with me everywhere I go because then it eliminates excuses.”
