“Cure, Guns N Roses, Def Leppard”: 4-Time Mr. Olympia Reveals the Songs He Listened to While Building His Monster Physique

Everyone needs a curated playlist as the background score of their life. Even while doing daily things in life like exercising, an upbeat playlist helps with the adrenaline. The bodybuilding community surely uses music to get pumped up in the gym and recently, veteran bodybuilder Jay Cutler opened up about his favorite symphonies that get him excited for fitness.

The ‘International Sports Hall of Fame’ winner, is a huge fan of music and hip-hop as evidenced by Cutler’s excitement about Superbowl performances. The 4-time Mr. Olympia spilled the songs he has on his workout playlist, in the new YouTube short video.

The new YouTube short video showed Cutler, speaking about his favorite all-time hits that get him energized for the gym. “So, what is on Jay Cutler’s playlist when he trains?” says the 49-year-old bodybuilding champion. He conveys that there is an array of different genres he listens to: “Now there’s a variety of music, I mean I have listened to everything from Hip Hop to throwing it back to Alternative.”

The 3-time Arnold Classic winner broke down his choices and dropped some uber-famous names of musical bands, “I mean I used to listen to The Cure. I have listened to Guns N Roses, Def Leppard.” These veteran rock bands are some of his favorite musicians to listen to. Apart from them, he also grooves to Journey which was a rock band formed in 1973. Cutler added that he likes to spice it up a little bit, during cardio: “I mean when I’m doing cardio, I want something more upbeat. So, I used to listen to a lot of Trance music.” But old-school Hip-Hop like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, and Drake are his ideal lineup, even to this day.

Just like his variety of interests in bodybuilding, launching a garment brand called ‘Cutler Athletics’, and interest in nutrition, his music taste is also varied. Cutler loves music so much that he was excited about Rihanna’s super bowl performance but was also disappointed about one thing.

As per the interview on YouTube, the 4-time Olympia winner reviewed his Superbowl experience. Apart from expressing his disappointment because the Eagles lost the game, he admitted to enjoying Rihanna’s half-time, performance. However, his manager Matt was disappointed that Jay Z did not perform. Along with this Jay Cutler, the G.O.A.T in the bodybuilding arena declared Rihanna to be the G.O.A.T among female Hip-Hop artists. Cutler sat through the whole performance because he admitted that he loves RiRi’s music.
