While the age-old saying ‘age is just a number’ is true to some extent, there is no denying that the human body becomes weaker and more fragile as we age. However, despite this, seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger makes sure to train daily and consume a strict diet in order to maintain his health. That too, after having had multiple heart surgeries.
As he continues to defy age, he was recently introduced during ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.’ However, the bodybuilding legend interrupted the host in between and asked him not to quote his age as part of his introduction.

Arnold Schwarzenegger on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’
Arnold Schwarzenegger is looking forward to the release of his new book, ‘Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life‘ on October 24th, and has been promoting his latest work for the past few weeks. As Arnold was recently featured in an episode of the renowned TV Show, ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,’ Colbert the host, mentioned ‘The Austrian Oak’s age while introducing him to the viewers.
To this, the 76-year-old quickly responded by jokingly interrupting him and said, “Why the years…why do you have to mention that,” to which Colbert responded, “It’s even more impressive, how good you look, I said it as a compliment.” Laughingly, Arnold stated, “Okay now thank you, thank you, go ahead.”
While the process of aging is something that no one can prevent, having a weaker body after you have carried a ripped superhero physique back in the day can be challenging for an individual to accept. A while back, Schwarzenegger opened up about the same during a podcast too.

‘Terminator’ gives his take on the process of aging
Having won titles like Mr. Universe five times, and Mr. Olympia for a whopping seven times, it can be hard for an individual like Arnold to accept that his body is becoming weaker and older. While this is a mental challenge for him, he does not hesitate to talk about this in public. Recently, Schwarzenegger appeared on the ‘Howard Stern Show,’ where he talked about this and made an honest confession.

Schwarzenegger stated, “I never ever thought about that when I was like 30 years old, or 40 years old, that this is going to happen. That at one point, we are going to look at this body…it still looks better than the majority of bodies, but I mean…It just sucks.”

Maintaining a lifestyle as active and a physique as well as Arnold’s at the age of 76 is not something that most individuals can do. As he continues to defy age, his confessions about the process serve as a reminder that even ‘Terminator’ feels the pain and sadness of life. What are your views on this? Let us know in the comments.
