The eldest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, is also making a name for himself in Hollywood. Making his debut in the 2006 film ‘Benchwarmers,’ Patrick managed to win countless hearts with his acting skills and the charm that he got from his father. As Patrick posted the images from his 30th birthday on Instagram recently, it was visible how close-knit the family was. The birthday seemed to have brought everyone together, with both Arnie and Maria Shriver being spotted together, despite being separate since 2011.

The family reunion came just days after Arnold revealed the complications that he faced during his heart surgery in his recently released book. Another big name that was spotted at the party was Chris Pratt, who is married to Arnold’s eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger. The caption of Patrick’s post read, “Dirty 30s as they say?? Dunno where time has gone. To another 30.” Two family members who were absent, however, were Christopher Schwarzenegger and Patrick’s stepbrother, Joseph Baena.

In his recently released book, ‘Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story,’ the Governator talks about his personal life and heart health issues in detail. Even after being told about the slim chances of success with his heart surgery, Schwarzenegger chose an option that would ensure he lived his life to the fullest.

Schwarzenegger pens down his dilemma

Back in 1997, Arnie was going through a rough time as he was supposed to get a second heart surgery because of a heart defect that he was born with called aortic stenosis. The former California governor was presented with two options. His first option was simple enough but required Arnold to give up on intense workouts, stunts, physical activities, and so on. The other one, however, would enable him to live a life with no such restrictions, but the success rate was as low as 60 percent.

You can continue doing stunts, you can continue doing sports, you can go skiing, you can go motorcycle riding, you can go horseback riding—whatever you want to do,” the doctor explained. Carefully understanding the consequences, Arnold made up his mind and said, “It’s fine, I’ll take the risk.”

If ‘Arnie’ had not taken this risk, it might have been a different story for the family. Schwarzenegger now makes sure to live a healthy lifestyle to spend as much time as he can with family, just as he did on Patrick’s 30th birthday. What are your views on the same?
