We have witnessed many genetic freaks from time to time in powerlifting and strongman events. While bodybuilding legends like Ronnie Coleman have admitted that despite hard training, strength is something that an individual has to be gifted with, it was also Brianny Terry’s hard work and determination that helped her break a deadlift world record.

Five times World record holder Brianny Terry recently created another world record as she pulled the heaviest raw deadlift that any female has ever lifted. At the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2, Terry lifted a whopping 641 pounds.

Brianny Terry rewrites history

An Instagram post from a fitness and bodybuilding page posted about the same wrote, “REPORT: Brianny Terry [ IG: @briannyt ] sets an all-time world record by deadlifting 291 kg (641.54 lbs) at 75 kg (165 lbs) body weight. This comes after earning her IFBB Pro card just 3 months earlier.”

Terry’s insane deadlift was not only in her 165 lbs weight class, but she also broke the record of any female ever in a raw-sanctioned powerlifting meet. She broke Sara Schiff’s previous record by half kgs. Terry completed the lift with a sumo stance in under 10 seconds using a mixed grip and a weight belt. Unfortunately, despite her victory, she finished the meet in fifth place overall in the best lifter standings.
