Among them was Jamaican bodybuilder, Brian Buchanan, who proudly flaunted a chest-to-waist ratio that set him apart from everyone else. A recent Instagram post by Chicago Adonis Bodybuilding featured the former athlete, highlighting his exceptional conditioning during the 80s and 90s. The fans also participated in the comments section to acknowledge him with the recognition he deserved, which had been pending for a long time.

The community reminisces about Brian Buchanan’s work

As per the update shared on Friday, the 61-year-old athlete was once captured onstage at the 1988 IFBB Italian Grand Prix organized in the Bergamo region of Italy. The black and white resurfaced picture did not do justice to his historical lat-to-waist proportioning, as it seemed faded. However, it was a mere proof of his grand physique. 

The caption revealed that the snap was clicked from the audience seating level. Regardless, he is known for his iconic V-tapers and was placed fifth in the competition depicted in the post. Bodybuilding veteran Richard Gaspari took home the overall title followed by Lee Labrada as the runner-up.

According to sources, his waist measured an impressive 27 inches, while his chest measured a record-breaking 57 inches. In 1984, he claimed victory in the NABBA Amateur Mr. Universe competition. Additionally, he secured a spot among the top 10 contenders in both the 1988 and 1989 Mr. Olympia events. Fans were quick to notice his shredded frame and expressed their admiration for the athlete in the comments section.
