Arnold Schwarzenegger married Kennedy Princess Maria Shriver in an intimate ceremony. The couple has two daughters and two sons. The 76-year-old action hero recently authored a new self-help book, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life, to motivate youth towards success and is busy promoting it. 

The 76-year-old appeared on the Jay Shetty Podcast to discuss his exemplary life journey. During the long conversation, the Austrian Oak made a surprising revelation about his daughter and ex-wife.

Arnie took the first step towards success when he started lifting weights at the gym. His bodybuilding climax came when he became the 7x Mr. Olympia champion in 1980. The action movie star tied the knot with Maria Shriver in 1986. They became parents to four children. 

But when Schwarzenegger took up the political office of Governor for California State, the kids were in pain because Arnie often missed their school recitals and matches. Maria Shriver supported Schwarzenegger during this time, and the latter calls her a “Powerhouse in the family” for taking care of the kids while he was away. The bodybuilding icon, however, noted that Maria Shriver and Katherine Schwarzenegger resemble in character to a great extent.

When Jay Shetty revealed that he had met Maria Shriver and Katherine Schwarzenegger, Arnie was quick to add, “Katherine is a carbon copy of Maria and Maria is a carbon copy of Eunice, Eunice is a carbon copy of Rose Kennedy. So, this is how it goes down, I mean, it’s like a, they’re like clones. You know exactly what you get from them.” Schwarzenegger also noted that he is proud of his firstborn. Earlier, The Terminator icon revealed another trait his kids received from the Kennedy family.

The Austrian Oak complains about a peculiar Kennedy habit

The 76-year-old bodybuilding icon was born into an underprivileged family and had to be cautious about resource consumption. So, Arnie was strict as a father and tried to impart some of his childhood values. But he found it hard to discipline his kids when it came to switching off lights.

Schwarzenegger explained his ordeal in his autobiography and wrote, “It was me against the entire Maria clan because the kids inherited keeping the lights on from her.” But the Governator always stresses that he is proud of his kids.
