Iron Claw will entertain movie buffs this Christmas, and actor Zac Efron is well on his way to promoting the film. He appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show, where the first thing anyone wanted to talk about was his extreme physical transformation to play the beloved Kevin Von Erich. 

Zac Efron’s Baywatch body had previously ignited the imaginations of fitness lovers but it appears that the Hollywood heartthrob had to outperform his previous physique transformation with The Iron Claw

The Iron Claw revolves around the Von Erich brothers, who in a way, revolutionized pro wrestling. And given how vocal and passionate wrestling fans can be, it was prudent that Efron really looked the part he was playing, so he did! And now of course, that is all anyone is talking about and Jimmy Kimmel was no exception.

Kimmel came straight to the point and said, “Man you got huge for this movie.” It was Efron’s turn to spill the tea on his wrestling frame for The Iron Claw. “Yeah, I did a lot of push-ups,” the actor wittily answered. Kimmel followed up his question with an incident of how Jeremy Allen White felt embarrassed standing next to the Efron, given the latter’s massive size.

In the interview, Efron even revealed how he worked with pro wrestlers for the film who thought the actors did a lot more physical work than them, thanks to numerous takes. Of course, getting into this shape when you actually don’t do it for a living can take its toll as Efron has often spoken about. 

The harder task- Baywatch v/s The Iron Claw

Efron also revealed how the insane training regime for Baywatch had pushed him into depression. But the 36-year-old confessed that his training regime for The Iron Claw turned out to be harder than Baywatch

Zac Efron had to gain weight to match Kevin Von Erich’s personality and vigor. He trained intensely for six months to build a beast-like physique resembling the popular wrestler. Unlike what he revealed on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Efron’s training regimen is power-packed with intense exercises such as shoulder presses, single-leg deadlifts, and pushups.
