“Didn’t Know What I Was Doing”: Jeremy Allen White Makes Surprising Confession About His Super Jacked Iron Claw Body Transformation

If you have followed the sport of wrestling and combat sports closely, chances are that you are already aware of who the Von Erich brothers were. Ever since the renowned Hollywood director Sean Durkin announced the release of his next project ‘Iron Claw’ a while back, fans have been anticipating the release of the movie more than ever.

Jeremy Allen White, and Zac Efron, who play the major role in the movie, had to undergo a drastic fitness transformation to gain a ton of muscle mass in order to play the role. Considering that Efron was already into fitness and lifting for a while now, it was White who had to put in extra hours in the gym to transform his physique. The Hollywood star even outlined his fears that rooted themselves due to the expectations placed on his shoulders. But how exactly did he do so? Let’s take a look.

Transforming for a movie can be much more challenging than we think it is. Gaining weight requires an individual to be in a caloric surplus. Talking along the same lines during his time at the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ Jeremy Allen revealed, “I didn’t know what I was doing. I think I just, I knew I had to eat more. And so I ate more.” Adding to this, giving insights into his workout and fitness regimen, he disclosed, “I knew I had to lift heavy things. So I lifted a lot of heavy things. And I knew these should try to stay away from like, I like to run. I like to do jump rope in my everyday life that makes me feel good.”

Further, Allen added that he was not really required to do a lot of cardio. The only thing that he had to focus on was eating a lot to maintain a calorie surplus and lifting heavy in order to gain muscle. “These guys didn’t do a lot of that stuff. It was just like kind of little cardio just getting big,” ‘The Bear’ star said.

Having Zac Efron alongside him during his journey might have come in handy as well. After all, the Hollywood hunk has transformed his physique multiple times now. Efron and White play brothers in the movie. Despite having a good physique already, Efron also had to undertake rigorous preparations for donning the role in the movie. ‘The Iron Claw’ will be hitting the theatres on December 22nd.
