Surprising the community with interesting tips through his newsletter is nothing new for bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. This time, Arnie revealed a study that might make you think twice before fasting. Multiple individuals are following the fasting trend for their workouts and to lose weight, but according to the Arnold’s Pump Club, this might increase the risk of cardiovascular death.

“First things first: No peer-reviewed study shows a cause-and-effect relationship between intermittent fasting and heart disease,” wrote Arnie explaining how the study is an abstract from a conference presentation. However, this doesn’t make the outcome unjustified.
For the study, scientists divided people into two groups: a non-time-restricted feeding group and a time-restricted feeding group. They studied and examined both of these groups over time. That being said, there is no confirmation if the time-restricted feeding group actually engaged in intermittent fasting.

The seven-time Mr. Olympia said, “Does this mean there’s nothing to take from the research? It’s too early to say, but because it’s just an abstract.” The GOAT brought to light the fact that research like this can offer different angles to research, which may lead to some unknown discoveries.
The authors of the abstract wrote, “Although the study identified an association between an 8-hour eating window and cardiovascular death, this does not mean that time-restricted eating caused cardiovascular death.” Adding on to the findings, Arnie highlighted that the many benefits of intermittent fasting are exaggerated. But he concluded by exemplifying that if intermittent fasting leads you to an effective diet and supports your weight loss, there is no need to worry about cardiovascular issues.

Cardiovascular disease is a much-touched-upon topic in the Arnold’s Pump Club. Earlier, the Terminator made a startling revelation about impotency leading to cardiovascular disease.
ED’s connection with cardiovascular issues
In his previous newsletter, the Terminator dropped some truth bombs on the connection between cardiovascular disease and erectile dysfunction. Research shows that experiencing ED can be a sign from your body that you only have two to three years until you face any cardiovascular event. “The same risk factors that cause plaque build up in the blood vessels in your heart are the same risk factors that cause plaque build up in the blood vessels that provide blood flow all over your body,” Arnie quoted cardiologist Danielle Belardo in his newsletter.
