Every sport has a restriction when it comes to age. The stereotype that beyond the age of 30, humans cannot perform to their optimum levels, is a very common notion in society. However, several athletes are breaking this bias every day, by practically showing the world that age is just a number. The bodybuilding world itself has several examples of people who are beyond 50 and are giving huge competition for people half their age.

The former Mr. Natural Universe is a man of many talents and is still going strong at the age of 54. He is a physical trainer, actor, model, and bodybuilding champion all locked up in a 6’,2” body. He has an incredible physique that can make any person envious and still works out like a person in his 20s. The Titan has been featured in more than 500 magazines in his life and has won many competitions such as 4-time Power Lifting Champion, and Iron Warrior: Decathlon of Strength Strongman Champion.

The 54-year-old always concentrates on longevity and advises youngsters on his YouTube channel as well as Instagram profile. However, aging cannot be stopped, and he has also admitted that it has taken a toll on him.

He revealed in a livestream that maintaining an incredible physique at this age while also traveling all over the world for competitions and judgments takes a toll on the body. However, he is not the one to give up and make sure to take care of his health in a natural way, and never stop training. The 54-year-old has been praised by Frank Zane for his dedication and longevity.

Jay Cutler 

The four-time Mr. Olympia might have retired from the competitive stage but he still trained like a pro and could still compete in the Olympia if he wanted. He also recently completed his Fit for 50 challenge and again did not disappoint. He continues to prove that it is just a number.  At the 2023 Muscle Contest Fit Expo, Cutler joined bodybuilder Regan Grimes. The guest posing showed his flawless and jacked physique even at this age and proved why he could break Ronnie Coleman’s 8-time Mr. Olympia record.

He still maintains a razor-sharp stage presence even after being nearly a decade away from the stage. Cutler offered a holistic approach to fitness and training when he did the Fit for 50 challenge. He proved the fact that, even after retirement, bodybuilders can stay muscular and lean without subjecting the body to rigorous training and dietary restrictions.

Robby Robinson

He is 77 years old and yet could compete on stage even today. The Black Prince is a former Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia competitor. He won titles such as Mr America, International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB), Mr World, Mr Universe, and Masters Olympia.

He has had a 27-year career in the bodybuilding world, which has been extremely rewarding according to him. He had completed a staggering number of 300 amateur competitions before becoming a pro in 1975. The champion retired a long time ago, but he remains active on social media and still trains inside the gym every day. The athlete has even created his own “16-week, 6-step Blueprint to the Best Physique of Your Life” and he shares the results on his page.

Kevin Levrone

The 59-year-old has achieved more than 20 pro competitions and his aesthetic physique is still maintained even at this age. The man who defeated, Ronnie Coleman, several times and his superhuman genetics as well as muscularity were one of the reasons that he could come back to Competition at the age of 51. 

Even if he was placed 17th he gave us a reason to understand why mindset and willpower never fail. He even expressed his gratitude towards the Olympia stage and spoke about his 2016 competition on the RX Muscle YouTube channel. He also is known as the “unacclaimed Mr. Olympia” by the bodybuilding world.

His humble approach and beastly mindset still make him a strong bodybuilding champion even at the age of 59. His depth of knowledge can be compared to Mike Mentzer himself. This aspect makes one of the most iconic bodybuilders around the world.

He is a former IFBB pro bodybuilder gym trainer nutritionist fitness writer/columnist and coach. He even trains athletes who are under Flex Lewis. He crafted the Y3T or the Yoda 3 training system she developed with his 30 years of experience within the fitness industry. 

He has been competing since he was 19 and he is still training to this day while coaching other athletes to become champions. The 54-year-old has an amazing clientele under his coaching wing. Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay as well as Steve “Mr. Propahhh” Laureus are a part of his tutilage.

Even at this age, he trains others, as well as maintains his physique, and with more than 33 years of experience, the bodybuilding pro is important and valuable knowledge to the industry.
