Arnold Schwarzenegger was seeking half-ownership
In a podcast, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed how people always warned him against playing a comedy role. He recalled, “I love when someone says, this is really risky, Arnold, to do “Twins” because the people love to see in action movies, but I don’t know if they will go for it that you are in a comedy.” Yet the Austrian Oak did exactly what he was warned against.
Moreover, he clearly told the director, Ivan Reitman, the $300 million-worth Hollywood persona behind hits like the “Ghostbusters” series and “Animal House”, that he did not require any payment instead, a part of its ownership would do.
Schwarzenegger stated, “And of course I say OK, so don’t pay me. I said, don’t pay me. Just make me be part owner of the film.” The bodybuilder further added, “I take the risk just like you take the risk, and sure enough, I made more money on that movie like in any other movie.”
