“Failure Invites Injury”: 81-YO Hall of Famer Bodybuilder Unveils a New ‘Form of Punishment’ That Hinders Building Up Aesthetics and Symmetry in One’s Physique

Bodybuilding icon Frank Zane’s thorough knowledge of symmetry was one of a kind. Hence, he was hailed as the King of Aesthetics because of his ideal proportions, which also left behind legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger once. Zane applied various methods to maintain his physique, some of which he has shared with the community in recent times. Taking to his Instagram a few hours ago, the former champion revealed another staggering concept. 

Iterating one of the laws of behavioral science, Zane iterated the significance of positive reinforcement to bolster the process of success. Even though many athletes have applied the workout till failure method often, the star shared a different perspective on the matter. Moreover, he also marked failure as a form of punishment in his note.

While bodybuilders largely resort to the training till-failure method, the 81-year-old veteran took the opportunity to challenge the norms and propose a contrasting ideology. The athlete regularly updates the sphere with the latest knowledge on his self-titled blog website. Sharing a bit of his recent blog on Instagram, Zane added a perceptive caption. 

“Laws of behavioral science tell us that people need positive reinforcement to continue performing successfully,” he wrote. Besides, he also noted that failure has a negative impact on the mind which affects the workout potential of an athlete. Speaking of its effects on the mind, Zane wrote, “Failure is a form of punishment.

That was not all. The former athlete also shed light on his personal preferences. He disclosed that he likes to see success in a person’s last repetition and in the right form. He claimed, Failure invites injury.” Making his point quite clear on the matter, Zane emphasized how a positive ending to a workout session can influence symmetry and aesthetics. However, this is not the first time the athlete is sharing his expert wisdom on bodybuilding.

Yet another post on Instagram featured an impressive picture of Zane flaunting his highly aesthetic physique. He advised the upcoming athletes to click regular pictures of themselves. This shall help them to track their subsequent growth and development over a period. He used the method during the Golden Era of Bodybuilding. 

He implied in the caption, “Because those pictures can better help you…objectively judge the way you look, than standing in front of the mirror.” As a matter of fact, the latter is mostly applied by athletes, assessing one’s frame and physique in front of the mirror. However, the notable pro suggests making use of technology and clicking regular pictures is a productive way of observing the developments.
