The bodybuilding domain has been graced with several unique athletes that seem to be cherished by the greats even today. German bodybuilder, Nasser El Sonbaty, was born to multicultural parents. His Egyptian father married his Yugoslavian mother, which he later represented in international competitions. His genetics allowed him to bulk up massively, charting his road to success in the industry, also known as an uncrowned Mr. Olympia. However, after an ill-fated circumstance in 2013, the news of his demise surfaced.

Reminiscing his immense potential, bodybuilding icon, Jay Cutler reflected back on Nasser’s pro-competing days in a clip of an interview that recently surfaced on YouTube. He revealed that the athlete’s size blew him away while sharing an interesting anecdote.

The video that surfaced on April 13 displayed the 49-year-old star athlete listing out the stunning aspects of the late pro. “I watched Nasser’s guest posing and I couldn’t believe how big he was,” Cutler revealed it as being the first point of intrigue of Sonbaty. Further adding, he shared that Nasser had maintained his gigantic physique for quite some time in the show. 

The quad-stomp poser pondered that the Mr. Olympia star seemed like he “was holding a lot of water.”  “I remember the next day I went to Gold’s to do a photo shoot in Venice, and I remember Nasser was there, he was on the bike,” the IFBB pro stated.

The fact that concerned him was that the night before, Nasser had accompanied Cutler and his friends to the Cheesecake Factory after his victory, and “he ate like three pieces of cheesecakes and it was like three weeks from the show.” Despite that, he killed a 1 or 2-hour workout session the next day at Gold’s gym, Venice. Although why was it shocking for Cutler?

As per the source. Cutler seemed pretty perturbed by the incident. He disclosed that The Professor’s feat “amazed” him and said, “as you know we are not supposed to be on the bike more than an hour at a time so it kinda shocked me.”

If that’s not all, the 5’11” athlete went on the finish in the top 3 positions in the next Mr. Olympia. “And of course, he goes to Olympia and gets third,” he chimed in. He recapitulated the points he brought up regarding his big size, “3 hours of cardio” after consuming three cheesecakes and then placing third in the most elite event in the sport.
