Seven times Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger has proved his mettle in various different ventures countless times. After achieving immense success in the realm of bodybuilding, Schwarzenegger’s switch to Hollywood was a smooth one as he established himself as one of the greatest action heroes. However, the only bump that he had during his journey to the top was his rivalry with Sylvester Stallone.
However, time does heal every wound. The duo’s rivalry later turned into friendship and both ‘Arnie’ and ‘Sly’ hold each other in high regard now. As Stallone’s new Netflix documentary just released a short while ago, posting a glimpse of it, Arnold mentioned an incident about their rivalry from back in the day. Many of the fans and viewers pointed out how the duo’s bond is wholesome in nature.

Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals how Sly signed up for ‘Stop or my mom will shoot’
Even though Arnold is most famous for his action roles, ‘The Terminator’ did not hesitate to try his luck in comedy movies as well. However, on the other side, Stallone faced a little dilemma in deciding if he should sign a comedy movie. But after witnessing his rival doing comedy films, Stallone was intrigued by the idea. “If you’re hungry, you always try to expand. It was natural for Sly to feel like, “I wanted to get into comedies,” Schwarzenegger explained during the documentary.

Talking about how he fooled Stallone into signing ‘Stop or my mom will shoot,’ Schwarzenegger recalled, “There was a script that was offered to his agent and my agent. When I read the script I said, “This I don’t think I could sell but I’m not going to tell them about it until they called right away.”” This led to Stallone signing the movie “and the rest is history.”
