Levrone was a tough competition and beat Ronnie Coleman multiple times. He also competed against the massive bodybuilder Yates and came in second at the Olympia in 1992 and 1995. Muscle Mind Media recently shared a video on their YouTube channel where Kevin Levrone is seen praising Dorian Yates. Kevin Levrone praised Dorian Yates and said “I mean, Dorian Yates raised the bar for all of us. And he was just an amazing athlete. Even though people say, Dorian, you didn’t have the greatest genetics. But let me tell you something. He had enough genetics to do what he needed to do and to build a back like that and everything. So he had genetics. He just didn’t flow like we did. He had them in other areas you know to where he had that grainy, grainy, grainy look.”

Kevin Levrone mentioned that Dorian Yates earned the nickname “The Shadow” because he would quietly disappear, then reappear in Flex Magazine with impressive photos weeks before a show. Levrone acknowledged that Yates raised the standard for him, inspiring him to train heavier and grow in his bodybuilding journey. Earlier in a YouTube video, Dorian Yates, known also talked about his rival, Kevin Levrone.

Kevin Levrone and Dorian Yates, famous bodybuilders, worked out together. After training, Yates noticed that Levrone’s back looked better in the next competition. Yates regretted sharing his workout secrets, saying, “Actually, I only trained with one of my peers that I competed with, and that was Kevin Levrone. I remember we were at Fivo in Germany. I met Kevin Levrone in the hotel.”

He further said, “Kevin came to Mr. Olympia the next time I saw him with a suspiciously improved back, so needless to say, I don’t make that mistake again, showing people what to do.” Despite the competition, bodybuilders like Levrone still helped each other out, showing both rivalry and friendship in the bodybuilding world.
