Arnie spills the beans on simple ways to be healthy

Schwarzenegger disclosed the simplest habits that can reduce 80% of heart diseases and other ailments. He described in his newsletter how; the optimization of health was a billion-dollar business in the world but in reality, most of the things that improve our health do not require a lot of money. The Austrian Oak listed the six important habits to incorporate into one’s daily life. He wrote, “Eating whole, plant-based foods every day; Sleeping at least 6 hours per day (ideally 7 to 9 hours), Moving 150 minutes per week, Avoiding tobacco and alcohol.”

Adding to these minor changes that one can bring to their life, Schwarzenegger also emphasized on the prioritization of social relations. According to the World Health Organisation, there is a study that was published that estimates 80% of instances of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes could be prevented by practicing these habits, he wrote in the newsletter.

Arnie also shared a small secret here. According to him, one should “focus on building one or two habits at a time.” Taking on too much might lead the habits to fail, he added.

The 76-year-old himself incorporates similar practices in his daily life. Especially the aspect of eating plant-based foods.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s switch to a healthy diet

During his competition days, Arnie used to consume 10 to 15 eggs daily and a lot of meat to get the perfect physique for competitions. However, later in life Schwarzenegger switched to a predominantly plant-based eating regime. Although he never eliminated meat from his diet, the Austrian Oak preferred a diet with more vegetables than animal protein. He has been following the diet for over six years and also revealed the effect that the change has brought about.

“My bad cholesterol number is so low that my doctor thought I might be a different person,” he said.
