“He Has Nothing Else to Prove”: Chris Bumstead’s Retirement Talks Floods the Internet After He Takes Home Mr. Olympia Title 5th Time in a Row

The debate about who is the best among the best has finally settled, as we just witnessed the final leg of Mr. Olympia 2023’s Classic Physique. Meanwhile, as the bodybuilding world is still awaiting the results of the open category, bodybuilding veteran Chris Bumstead has again proved why he is considered the king of classic physique.

As Cbum won the title for the fifth consecutive time, fans from all around the globe sat worried about this being Bumstead’s last year of competing. Luckily, Bumstead has not made any such announcements yet. However, as IFBB Pro Greg Doucette posted about Bumstead’s recent victory on his Instagram, many fans seem to think that Chris should retire from the sport.

IFBB Pro Greg Doucette has been in the fitness and bodybuilding sphere for quite a while now. Lifting since his teenage years, Doucette knows what it takes to be a champion on the biggest stage in the world. Congratulating Bumstead on his fifth Classic Physique title, Doucette posted a video from the event and posed a question to the viewers regarding their views on Bumstead’s retirement.

Doucette wrote in the caption, “And 5 time @cbum. The most special. Will he retire? Tore his lat 10 weeks out and still came put on top. Cookbooks and HTLT sups click the link.”

Netizens react to Greg Doucette’s Instagram post

Answering the question that Doucette posed in his caption, a person wrote, “Probably should,” while another fan gave his take on the same and stated, “Chris will win until he retires. Everyone looks great but when next to Chris it’s simply lights out.” 

Suggesting that Ramon Dino will be the next champion, another fan said, “5 to retire… Ramon needs to learn some English… cuz he is the next winner.”

One of the users simply stated, “If I was him personally I’d probably retire cause I know he mentioned wanting a family and he has nothing left to prove,” while another user talked along the same lines and wrote, “Retire 5peat he has nothing else to prove.”
