Former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, believes in experimenting and trying new things. His professional career is an example of it, but there’s one thing he intends to stay aloof from, and that is a smartphone. While the world seems addicted to it, the $450 million worth star doesn’t own one. In an interview once, his son, Patrick, confirmed that when needed, he uses his old flip phone, although he has memorized most of the numbers. 

In contrast, a recent interview with CBS News revealed that he bought his childhood buddies, who also work as delegates at the Vienna conference, a special gift to help them communicate from across the world.

According to the publication, the 75-year-old icon iterated his passion for driving change toward environmental causes when the aspect of his friendship was brought to the table. The Austrian World Summit annually takes place in Vienna and hosts delegates who are also the legend’s companions from his homeland, Austria. “the men at this table are his hometown friends, some of whom he’s known since he was six years old,” the source stated.

Therefore, to keep in touch with them even after the conference, given he resides in the U.S. now, Schwarzenegger mentioned, “I bought them an iPhone”. The former bodybuilder said it was gifted to them so that they can talk to each other every week. “And we have the greatest time laughing about it, talking about the good old days, and what we are doing now,” he added.

Also, Schwarzenegger has saved a list of numbers in his speed dial and also ingrained them into his brain. Whereas, he resorts to his iPad when he wants to talk to anyone, mostly by using FaceTime.
