Quite surprisingly, former powerlifter turned bodybuilder, John Rivas had a very unusual bulking diet. In his latest interview with Dave Tate on his YouTube channel, Dave Tate?s Table Talk, Rivas revealed how he bulked up during his college days when he was already benching 315 lbs.?

John Rivas discloses his strange diet plan

In a recent interview with the host, the athlete openly shared insights about his bodybuilding and powerlifting careers. When discussing his nutrition and diet, Rivas made a surprising revelation. According to the interview, he relied on McDonald’s items as his preferred bulking diet.

?When I was coming out of school I was a 165 pounds at 5?9. I was benching 315 or whatever, but it took a lot of food to get, you know, I would just eat eat eat,? he told, speaking of his love for food.?

However, from the perspective of an athlete, his diet regime wasn?t up to the mark. ?I remember after community college I?d get out of class and I?d go to McDonald’s, and this was on the dollar menu?I would get 2-3 double cheeseburgers?? Rivas recalled briefly.

McDonald’s meals and impressive gym performance

Continuing the conversation, he expressed, ?A big mac large with large fries, the yogurt parfait?they had like chicken snack wraps, so I would get 2-3 of those.? Yet that was not all. Only 20 minutes after relishing at McDonald?s, the elite NPC competitor would go and train at his gym, benching 315 lbs. ?I didn?t feel sick at all,? he chimed in.?
