On ‘Good Morning Britain’, Baena was asked whether he felt shocked when the news about his father being Arnold Schwarzenegger broke out in 2011. Baena calmly replied, “I think the main thing is that as a kid you don’t really question too much. And it just, it just how it is.” Adding on to this, Baena also commented on how he loved his father for being the amazing man he was. “And so for me I love my father he’s he’s an amazing man. During the interview, Baena was told how his father’s decision to make his affair public could have gone in a different direction. They further touched upon the fact that the Austrian Oak’s confession about his love for Baena might have led to this choice. In reply to this, Joe also stated how his father has been nothing but kind and supportive towards him and his career, from acting to real estate, and even bodybuilding.

That being said, being Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son can also be intimidating when people discredit Baena’s own merits because of having such a high-profile father. Earlier, he had talked about the same and explained how he pushed through all the negativity.

Baena was once asked whether being Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son yields many comments that suggest all his success was for his father and never for his own skills. Agreeing to the thought, Baena revealed, “People always discredit them, say you only got that because of your parents.”

He further stated how he tackles such negativity shown towards him. Baena confessed, “I would always get comments if you’re only there because of your dad or whatever, and so it bothered me at the time, but now I’ve realized that it’s gonna be part of it,” accepting the fact that this comes with the life of having someone so high-profile as your father.
