“I Started Crying”: Despite Not Being in His Best Possible Shape, Chris Bumstead Reveals How Coach Hany Rambod’s Support Gave Him Confidence

Being the most prestigious event in bodybuilding, competing in Mr. Olympia can be a stressful event for bodybuilders because of the difficulties they face before stepping on stage. Even the greats of the game are not exempt from the stress of the tournament. Even the five-time Mr. Olympia‘s classic physique, Chris Bumstead faces it.

Recently, he shared his experience and the nervousness he felt before the competition. He also talked about his coach Hany Rambod’s pivotal role in his success. He referred to him as a “wizard” for his problem-solving abilities. Bumstead in his latest post talked about his experience during his fifth Olympia championship, he uploaded a video on his YouTube channel. He titled it “SHOW DAY MR. OLYMPIA, PART 1 – PRE-JUDGING.”

Moreover, The Canadian bodybuilder stressed the situation and talked about the challenges he struggled with during the competition. He said before going to the stage, his body looked flat because of his intense workout sessions he burned a lot of calories. Rambod acknowledged the problem and tried to calm Cbum down, and handed him food.

The food Rambod offered him during last-minute prep, included a burger, rice cakes with almond butter and jam, and a hearty mix of eggs, potatoes, rice, and steak, which provided him approx 4000 calories within a short span of time. He adds, “I started to look dryer, cuts were getting deeper in my glutes my abs were starting to dry out again. Whenever I have like soft lower abs that’s just when I’m not looking good and yeah so it all started to come together and then he looked at me and he laughed like all right yeah we’re going to be able just gave him that confident look.”

“he’s like all right we got this like we’re pulling it together you got this like you look good we’re going to do it and I was like I started crying like f*ck I was like man we should had to a little bit of stress you know I’ve been I put so much like subtle expectation and pressure on myself,” Cbum added to his confession. The ability of his coach is not a secret. He is the only IFBB pro coach who has earned the most wins through his students.

Hany Rambod’s have won several titles!

After winning his fifth Olympia title, the 28-year-old shared an emotional post for his coach Cbum wrote, “People always ask what it’s like being coached by Hany, he’s the GOAT, there’s not much more I can say….I’m grateful to be on this journey together. Love you, brother.” Evidently, CBum solely mentioned in a post about his coach’s success.
