Mike O’Hearn is a 54-year-old bodybuilding Hulk who still looks as young as he did a decade ago. His chiseled muscles and Greek God-like body can get anyone awestruck. The Titan has won many competitions like Mr. Natural Universe and has been a part of several magazine covers. He is often one of the biggest figure among others when he enters a room.

However, he might not have anticipated that there would be someone who would have bigger muscles than him and surpass him in size. In his latest podcast, O’Hearn spoke to Dru Borden and delved into his journey in the world of bodybuilding.

Mike O’Hearn intimidated by Dru’s sheer structure

In the new Generation Iron podcast, the Titan sat down with Borden, who is also known as Big Dru, and spoke about his transformative journey in the world of bodybuilding. At the age of 41, Borden stands at 6’3” and weighs 280 pounds of pure muscle. He shared his insights of the industry from yesteryears and his diet choices along with the huge shift towards a healthy approach to the craft of bodybuilding.

During the chat, O’Hearn further went on to say, “When I walk into a room everybody is like oh dude, you’re a lot bigger than I thought. I thought you were like a model or something like that they forget I was a gladiator.” 

O’Hearn added, “But when you walked in the room, I was like okay I am not the biggest guy anymore I got this monster here.” Big Dru has always been tall and with huge muscle however, he did not have a healthy lifestyle in the past. This podcast also saw him detail his journey from 10,000 calories of fast food every day to a leaner and cleaner bulk.

He reminisced about his youth and spending time with Rich Piana. Even before connecting with Rich, he had lived a lifestyle focused on getting large at any cost and bulking up even if it meant having a daily diet of McDonald’s burgers.

He was heaviest at 305 pounds by 2006 and was consuming 10,000 calories a day. This dirty bulking with burgers and greasy foods was taking a toll on his health.
