Arnold Classic 2023 winner Samson Dauda has created a name for himself in the realm of modern bodybuilding. Being one of the hottest prospects of this year’s Olympia, he did not disappoint his fans as he managed to secure a place in the top three. However, what many people don’t know is that Dauda was not into bodybuilding a while back.

Using his social media presence to its advantage, Dauda often communicates with his fans via posts and videos. He recently shared an Instagram video with his followers, which consisted of a few pictures from his past, way before he made his bodybuilding debut.

Samson Dauda was into football before stepping on the stage

Dauda revealed in his Instagram post that he was a football player before making his bodybuilding debut in 2014. The Nigerian Lion turned pro three years later, in 2017. Samson’s first pro bodybuilding competition took place at EVLS Prague Showdown in Prague. He came fifth in the open division. Unfortunately, Dauda did not win his first pro show until late 2021. Next year, in 2022, he made his Olympia debut and came sixth. Fired up by his streak, he started 2023 strong as he won the Arnold Classic 2023 and then continued to secure third place at this year’s Olympia.

Posting his transformation video on Instagram, Nigerian Lion wrote in the caption, “The evolution. It’s possible.” His transformation truly came as a shock to many, while others appreciated his journey in the comments. Let’s take a look at what the fans had to say about this.

One of the users commented on Samson’s video by stating, “2013: defender’s last ever tackle,”. Meanwhile, another person felt motivated by his journey and wrote, “It is just so inspiring and motivational to see the evolution and development right from the beginning.” Appreciating his transformation over the years, another fan wrote, “2018-2023 insane evolution.”

One of his fans also expressed his candid feelings as he wrote, “You are a truely warrior and I’m honoured to witness some of your accomplishments. We need more of you on this planet.”
