The 77-year-old bodybuilder who banks on optimism saying something like this might confuse people. However, like always, Arnie has revealed through scientific research how such thoughts can actually help one in one’s life.

Confronting mortality can lead to healthier behaviors: Schwarzenegger
Through his newsletter, Schwarzenegger revealed how confronting one’s mortality helps them get healthier. He wrote, “Not only does confronting your mortality make you happier, but research suggests it promotes better health and can lead to healthier behaviors, such as exercising more, smoking less, or using sunscreen.”

Schwarzenegger talked about how negative thoughts in one’s life ending might actually make them want to change habits and lead a better lifestyle. The Austrian Oak noted how death is a psychological threat, “The reason might be a simple reality: death is a psychological threat to your existence.” Then he further explained, “It forces you to become more aware of your limited time, actions, and behaviors. When your brain is forced to confront the end, you’re hard-wired to search for happy thoughts and take action to keep what you don’t want to lose (your life).”

While here, Arnie has showcased research to talk about the benefits of thinking about death, he had earlier talked about how he would like to “destroy” death.

In an interview, Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed that he has a fierce goal of destroying it by pumping irons. “Well, what do you think why I am working on every day? What do you think I am pumping iron, why am I lifting hundreds and hundreds of pounds? Should death ever come to me, I will battle him and destroy him and terminate him,” he stated.

Moreover, the bodybuilder always reflects on how he feels connected with those who have already departed. “They are with me, every single day,” he explained.
