Having a competitive spirit has always helped athletes become better versions of themselves. It not only helps them have a sense of direction, but it motivates them in the larger picture. In a sport like bodybuilding, one often sees competition unfolding in different aspects of an athlete’s life.

Derek Lunsford and Chris Bumstead have both won Mr. Olympia titles this year, while Lunsford took home the Sandow trophy for the Open Category, Bumstead won his fifth Classic Physique title. In a candid chat with the Pro Creator Hany Rambod, Lunsford went on to talk about how competitive Bumstead was with him, even on a personal front.

In the latest interview video posted on YouTube by Evogen Nutrition, Derek Lunsford joined Hany Rambod for a Q&A session. After talking extensively about both the bodybuilders’ sudden life changes, Rambod pointed out something about his trainee, Chris Bumstead. The coach joked about how CBum wanted to have a baby as soon as he heard about Lunsford becoming a soon-to-be father, much like how one would want a car.

The coach then pointed out that CBum already owns one such magnificent car. He thus enquired to Lunsford, “You know he got a Porsche GT3?” When Lunsford heard it, he instantly denied knowing that information. Furthermore, he also quipped, “He’s always trying to one-up me.”

Although Lunsford felt that CBum has been competitive only towards him, Rambod dismissed all such notions. In addition, the coach also confessed how Bumstead did the same with him, too.

After mentioning that Bumstead owns a Porsche GT3, Rambod went on to say that CBum’s car was of a better model than his. He stated, “He’s trying to up everyone. So he had to get the one with the wing cause, I have the one without the wing. The touring and then he’s like oh mine’s manual too. I’m like you don’t even know how to drive a stick, you know.”
