35 years ago, director Ivan Reitman made a comedy classic with two of the unlikeliest of pairs starring as the namesake ‘Twins’. The movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as twin brothers who reunite in the end. This kicked off a solid friendship between Schwarzenegger and DeVito, so solid that Schwarzenegger gave a nod to his friend in his latest Netflix series, FUBAR. The nod, a joke on DeVito, was a long time coming as the Always Sunny in Philadelphia star made several pranks on the bodybuilding legend during their time together.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro starrer, FUBAR, is finally out on Netflix, and fans have been gorging on every episode. In a small clip from one of the episodes of the show, Schwarzenegger mentions his dear friend and co-star, which makes Barbaro laugh.

Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t miss a chance to pull one up on his longtime friend

Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been known to connect with his fans on a more personal level. Be it meeting and greeting them in person or connecting with them online, he is more than happy to just engage with them. Keeping that same tradition, Schwarzenegger posted on his Instagram, “I want to hear your favorite FUBAR one-liners: That’s it & that’s all? I love Danny Devito? Tag me in your stories with your best Luke impressions and I’ll repost my favorites.”

Urging his fans to repost their favorite dialogues, Schwarzenegger also attached a clip from the show itself. He says in it, “I love Danny DeVito. He is so tiny. I want to put him in my pocket”, as the father-daughter duo of Luke and Emma Brunner, i.e. Schwarzenegger and Barbaro, walks away.

For the record, Danny DeVito is 4’10” and the comedy legend has never been shy to use his short height for laughter. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s much publicly debated height on the other hand is 6’2″.

Both Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger always make sure to pull each other’s leg wherever they can. It started with DeVito pranking Schwarzenegger, but not on the sets of Twins. Instead, in another Ivan Reitman movie, Junior. Also starring Emma Thompson, Danny DeVito pulled a major prank on Schwarzenegger that involved the latter’s favorite indulgence. DeVito was aware of Schwarzenegger’s habit of smoking stogies, and so one fine day, he took one of Schwarzenegger’s Monte Carlo stogies, which he knew he was going to smoke, and replaced the tobacco inside with marijuana.

Arnold Schwarzenegger remembers the effect of that to date as he kept forgetting lines during one scene, as he recalled to Jimmy Kimmel and Logan Paul in separate interviews of late. While he may not have pulled a prank on DeVito, his one joke on him in FUBAR must’ve also been satisfactory. The two actually continue to be very good friends in real life.
