As part of the Mr. Olympia check in, Lunsford was interviewed by Olympia TV. Eventually, the moment has come for which he has been waiting for years. During the interview, he opened up on what kept him going to grab the sought-after title.

Asking Lunsford’s current feeling about the competition, the host asked, “You look focused you got the Indiana wrestling face what’s going on with you?” In response, Derek Lunsford said, “You’re exactly right this year has been um a fantastic year uh I took the entire year off to just focus to come back to get that Mr Olympia title and I put my heart and soul on this every single day in the gym.”

Expressing his consistency and disciplined routine for bodybuilding at the gym, Lunsford went on to say, “You guys have seen on my YouTube channel and on my Instagram I’ve just stayed consistent at loving being in the gym loving bodybuilding and just doing my best to focus on me and improve what I can improve and control what I can control.” Further in the video, the bodybuilding legendary figure seems to count the contribution of his coach and indicated a kind of amazing and cordial relationship he has had with him. 

Complementing his pregnant wife, he said, that she has been his backbone and also mentioned to know how she was pregnant with the couple’s first child. Earlier, Derek Lunsford had shared a beautiful snippet with his wife on his Instagram.

Recently, the beast with a shredded body uploaded some photos from his gym sessions. In those photographs, his wife was seen proudly showing off her baby bump. Along with the family pics, the bodybuilder had also written a heartfelt caption that said, “The support of my wife @jhelbell @fitwithjhel 💍❤️ and having our baby girl coming in about 11 weeks gives me that extra gear I never knew I had.”

Further, he went on to express that the upcoming Olympia 2023 was crucial for him as he seems to have the biggest reason to win the coveted title.
