In the interview with Chris Williamson, Phil responds to several facades of his personal and professional life. At one point, Williamson asks Phil if his being an only child has affected him in any way. As soon as he hears it, he instantaneously replies without thinking for a second. Heath says, “I’m my own first responder.” Additionally, he remarks, “No one’s gonna save you”.

Phil Heath depicts a scenario where one with siblings has to wait for further opinions, whereas as an only child, Phil Heath can make his own decisions. He says, “You have to assume that there’s no one else to help you, so what are you going to do about it?”

Thus, Phil rightly comments and spreads the awareness of being one’s own commander. Waiting for others to rely on them can only delay or worsen a person’s situation. However, being independent and holding oneself accountable for every action mostly proves to be beneficial in the long run.
