The last four consecutive Mr. Olympia winners, Chris Bumstead, popularly known as CBum, is recently reported to struggle with the very basics of fitness. However, a meticulous study shows his inclinations towards gaining is quite voluntary than simple loss of control.

However, the pursuit of perfection can sometimes lead to extreme measures, as exemplified by the case of Chris Bumstead, the renowned IFBB Pro. Despite his heavy off-season weight of 264 lbs, a surprising revelation has been made by his coach regarding his high-calorie intake. Greg Doucette decodes the possible rationale behind Bumstead’s motives with his alleged growth of body fat.

Debunking myths and revealing the truth behind Bumstead’s off-season weight and calorie intake

In his latest YouTube video, the Guinness World Record holder, Fitness coach, Greg Doucette, connects all the dots and thoroughly disentangles Bumstead’s calory chart. As Chris tells in his own video, “Total calories ended up coming up to 3 700 calories, and that’s with 300 grams of protein 370 grams of carbs.” Greg notes it down and remarks to clear the misconceptions, “He’s not eating five to six or seven thousand calories a day.”

Doucette further emphatically states, “Bulking up in the off-season. He’s actually mean gaining. He got his weight up as high as 269 pounds said that is too big. I have to cut back a little bit.” He figures that Chris eats about 75 to 80 percent of the calorie intake at his highest.

CBum realizes that his previous count of only 4% body fat was nowhere near healthy. Thus, after rigorous analysis and structured diet plans, Bumstead proceeds toward the ideal percentage.

Greg discloses his preferred amount right after. “Nobody is healthy at 4% body fat. For the average person, I recommend 15 body fat,” he says, “most people at 10 body fat, they might not have the energy, they might not feel good… they can’t properly get a pump their testosterone levels.” Nonetheless he doesn’t exclude a little gifted physiques like that of CBum’s. He suggests they can attain the same results with only 10-12%.

For bodybuilders, sticking to their diet and skillfully understanding the complexity of the body and muscles help them stand out from the rest and ultimately make them win contests. Chris Bumstead, winning the last four Mr. Olympia titles, has certainly been in the process of mastering the truth behind it.
