Flex Wheeler is one of the most renowned bodybuilders in the community who even without an Olympia title, was a fan favorite. Even after his retirement, the Uncrowned Mr. Olympia’s throwback photos are still stirring sentiments among fitness enthusiasts.

A similar situation ensued when Serbian bodybuilder, IFBB Pro Coach, Milos Sarcev, shared one of the most trendy photos of his contemporary in his prime. Just hours after Wheeler talked about how he has to live through the “strange sensation” of having an amputated leg, this photo refreshed the minds of fans about the bodybuilder’s legendary physique from the past. It not only took the community back in time, but the fitness world was also witness to how another legendary bodybuilder paid homage to Wheeler.

Milos Sarcev praises Wheeler’s 1993 physique

In his latest Instagram post, Sarcev shared a photo of Wheeler from the latter’s 1993 Arnold Classic appearance. Back then, Wheeler weighed about 218 pounds and had humongous muscles with definite and precise cuts. Sarcev called the photo one of the greatest in the industry. He wrote, “Arguably – THE greatest picture of a bodybuilder ever taken!!  @flexwheeler.nutrition

The Arnold Classic’s Lifetime Achievement award winner Flex Wheeler had a great year in 1993 when the photo was taken. That was also the year when Wheeler won the first of his four Arnold Classic titles. Thus, the photo remains the very epitome of his power and expertise at sculpting physique.

It was not just the fitness community that lauded Wheeler’s physique but many star bodybuilders also nodded in agreement about how the photo was one of the greatest of all time.

Bodybuilding community agrees with Sarcev’s comment: Best Picture ever taken

The seven-time Mr. Olympia 212 winner, Flex Lewis, reflected Sarcev’s opinion and commented on the post, “One of my all time bodybuilding favorites photos. – incredible artistry in an image. @officialflexwheeler.” One of the fans also penned, “That physique is really hard to beat as one of the greatest conditioned, muscular of all time. The sultan of symmetry!!!” hinting at the fact that Wheeler would give a run for the money to current bodybuilders as well.

Someone also recalled how 1993 was the best performance Flex Wheeler ever had in that arena. They said, “Arnold Classic 93, best Flex performance. And I agree Milos, best picture ever.” One other fan implied how Wheeler deserved Olympia titles and commented, “Da Best & Most Complete physique of our Generation. The IFBB should’ve honored him with atleast 2 Mr O’s. 1998 & 1999.” 

Yet another fan humorously pointed out, “His arms look photoshopped before we even had photoshop.”

Despite not winning any Mr. Olympia titles, Flex Wheeler has garnered praise from several bodybuilders of his time and beyond. Even his opponents could not question Wheeler’s competency. The bodybuilder might be going through a lot after his amputated leg and several bodily ailments, yet he has a great legacy that still continues to motivate the fitness community.
