IFBB Pro Markus Ruhl was one of the only few bodybuilders who looked massive enough while standing among the likes of Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman. Despite the fact that ‘The German Nightmare’ never won an Olympia, he was still a fan favorite. The epic posing battles between Cutler, Coleman, and Ruhl were definitely a sight to behold.

While the trio shared a healthy rivalry on stage, they were actually good friends outside the competition arena. Recently, a resurfaced video features the trio posing, leaving fans nostalgic.

The video started with just Ruhl and Coleman posing for the crowd before the competition. Suddenly, filled with confidence, Cutler made his way to the stage, and started showing his rock-hard physique. This encouraged Coleman and Ruhl to also get rid of their shirts and follow suit. Looking at the trio posing together made fans wonder if the early 2000s were really the prime of bodybuilding.

The video in question is from 2004 when all three were at their prime. A few days later, Ronnie Coleman won his 7th Mr. Olympia title that year but the fans were equally in favor of all three athletes. Due to the dominance of Coleman and Cutler, Ruhl was never able to get his hands on the Sandow Trophy. While Cutler came second in the competition, Ruhl settled for the 5th position which was the highest he ever achieved in the competition.

Fans were emotional after looking at the video and the comment section was full with fans cheering for the trio. The fans were divided into three groups; some of them favored the 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman while some pointed out the faith Cutler had in himself. And then there were the fans of ‘The German Nightmare’ who discussed how Ruhl was one of the best-underrated bodybuilders.

Fans were thrilled to see the video!

Some of the fans commented on the post saying, “Jay basically saying “hold my beer,” while others wrote, “Wow really miss this era.” Another fan wrote, “Nobody gonna mention how Ruhl was so underrated even though Jay is my favorite,” meanwhile a fan pointed out by saying, “They don’t grow like this anymore.”
