However, his memory continues to live on as shown by an emotional recollection from the Sultan of Symmetry. Flex Wheeler made every die-hard fan of bodybuilding emotional as he commemorated one of the gems from the community. His way of paying homage to the bodybuilding icon was eye-opening.

Flex Wheeler pays a special tribute to bodybuilding Quadzilla
In a recent Instagram story, Flex Wheeler made his fans and followers emotional as he paid tribute to Paul Demayo, who died due to an overdose of drugs. He reshared a video in which, he can be seen adjusting a gladiator leg press recollecting Demayo. In the video, he adjusted the gladiator to ensure safety.
He went over the Gladiator Leg Press and discussed the different adjustments and types of workouts that can be performed on it. He also added a caption saying, “RIP @Paul Demayo Aka Quadzila.” Alongside Tom Platz, Paul Demayo was one of the legendary bodybuilders of the era. During the golden era, both these bodybuilders competed with majestic physiques and won people’s hearts. While Tom Platz had the best quads standing at 30 inches, Demayo was known for his incredible thighs.

Wheeler’s obsession with his nickname
In the 1991 nationals, Wheeler came second, while Paul Demayo was third. However, in an interview before the event, when the reporter asked him about his nickname, ‘Flex’ replied, “people used to tease me I was younger”. During the interview, he also turned to reveal that he had carved his name on his hair, flaunting the ‘Flex’
As time passed, the bodybuilder realized that people began liking his nickname, and he accepted it, a transformation from Kenneth ‘Flex’ Wheeler to just Flex Wheeler. Even after going through all the challenges that life throws at him, Wheeler continues to showcase his gratitude towards the past and remembers his counterpart.
