Former Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Twitter update on visiting the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative ahead of the Austrian World Summit in Vienna is turning into a battle zone. Soon after a user retweeted his post, pointing out his private jet ownership, the former bodybuilder tried to correct the user’s presumptions. Yet, the effort backfired, as numerous other users criticized the actor.

Another critical insight on the matter asked about Schwarzenegger’s dislike for energy companies while assuming that he probably uses energy sources more than other people in the world, given his opulence. Therefore, the star once again looked to clarify his stance. This, in turn, left him receiving more flak from the community.

After the 75-year-old icon clarified yesterday that it was a commercial flight he was traveling on, he further slammed the user for making presumptions about him, per sources. Little did he know, he would have to do it all over again and for a range of users. The critical insights varied from speculations on acid rain to crediting Former POTUS Richard Nixon for driving change through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

However, a particular user boldly stated, “What’s wrong with energy companies? Why do you hate them? You probably use more of their product than 99% of people on earth.” This triggered a response from the IFBB pro, perplexed over the use of the word “hate.” He wrote, “Hate? I don’t hate anyone. We wouldn’t be where we are without fossil fuels.”

Furthermore, he touched on the grave concern of environmental pollution and claimed that it is “awful” for human health. Arnold added, “But now we know pollution is awful for our health and we have safer, cheaper, alternatives.” Though having the best intentions in mind, Schwarzenegger still had to tackle the sudden wave of criticism.

Internet baffled over Arnold Schwarzenegger’s take on climate change issues

After the post surfaced on the platform yesterday, it amassed over 331.3k views and an overwhelming number of comments from users, mostly against his revelations. A comment mocked the star athlete and promised to buy an electric vehicle, and implied, “Can you send me 50k I promise to buy a ev.”

One user revealed the Austrian Oak’s luxurious SUV cars that hog on fuel. “We love you Arnie but we all remember your Hummers 😂😂” the comment read.

Another reply to the tweet shed light on China’s massive contributions to environmental pollution. “Adopting new technologies has to make financial sense to the everyday folk. That’s the answer. Of course, science will do what it is doing.”

Deeming the resolve as too ideal to be true, one user wrote an elaborate comment implying, “Those are virtuous aspirations”  and claimed that these resolutions are“utterly unrealistic” in the current state of affairs.
