Jay Cutler believed he was not getting any better
Jay Cutler understands the reality that once an individual reaches their pinnacle, it becomes exceptionally challenging for them to re-enter the competition and reclaim their reputation. Thus, he acknowledged the high likelihood that he would not have participated in the 2009 Mr. Olympia. During an interview on Fouad Abiad Media’s show Bro Chat, he confessed, “I should have quit. I should have quit after 2009 because I was never getting better than that.”

Moreover, Cutler also pointed out why he stayed in the race even when he understood he was not getting any better. The bodybuilder shed light on the fact that he only won once after that year, in 2010. He said, “I only won one more. After that, I won in 10 and then the heat came on. The rest is kind of history. But that’s when I stayed for the rewards of the financial gain.”
