Ronnie Coleman shares snippets about the fateful day

Bodybuilders lift weights in the gym to tone their muscles. Ronnie Coleman’s heavyweight duties include an 1100 lbs leg press, 725 lbs deadlift, and 800 lbs squat. His intense training has helped him build a physique that fetched eight Mr. Olympia titles. 

During one of his heavyweight squatting sessions, he herniated his disc, which would eventually make him lose his mobility. Recalling the incident in an interview with the Iced Coffee Hour YouTube channel, the legend confessed that he was squatting 600 lbs when the incident happened.

This day I was coming from rep number eight, and I heard a loud bang, ” The King said. “It was so loud it kind of hurt my ear,” he further added. However, the King didn’t realize it was his herniated disc and pushed his remaining workout regime. Despite a series of surgeries to fix his herniated disc and subsequently losing mobility, Coleman never regretted his heavyweight training during his prime.

The King of bodybuilding 

Coleman survived on pizzas in his early years and agreed to compete in his first bodybuilding event to get free membership in the gym. Soon, he earned a name in the bodybuilding arena, and his career ended after becoming the G.O.A.T of the sport, surpassing the Mr. Olympia titles achieved by the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The King’s retirement life, however, is not so rosy as he had to undergo several surgeries to fix his herniated disc. In the process, he was told that he couldn’t walk because of the botched-up procedures. However, he never blames his illustrious career and training for his current situation. He even confessed that he would do it all over again if given a chance
