Chris Hemsworth’s backstory to launch a fitness app

Thor launched his Centr fitness app in 2019 to offer consumers reliable expert-driven fitness information while enhancing mindfulness. The app was acquired by HighPost in 2022 for a $200 Million deal, and Hemsworth is the second largest shareholder. The Hollywood action hero continues to promote Centr to help his followers learn fitness principles online.

But Hemsworth’s love for a fit life started much earlier in life. The Australian actor started lifting weights as a teenager along with his uncle in the latter’s garage gym filled with ripped Arnold Schwarzenegger’s posters. Soon, he started focusing on nutrition and understood the importance of protein in muscle building. But it was his father, Craig Hemsworth, who brought more perspective to his fitness goals. “We need to make sure you have some carbohydrates,his father would suggest before football games, as per Entrepreneur.

Hemsworth noticed how his clean eating practices at home enhanced his performance on the field. Soon, a list of queries followed on his fitness routine. So, this is the beginning of Centr’s genesis. Hemsworth started his $200 Million fitness app to share his fitness mantra with a larger audience. Earlier, the actor shared his excitement upon Centr collaborating with Walmart.

Mark Bezos acquired the Hemsworth fitness app in 2022 and combined it with Inspire Fitness to offer holistic fitness services to consumers. Centr tied up with Walmart to provide its merchandise for the consumers at the retail giant’s stores. “Super excited to launch a range of fitness equipment through my partnership between @centrfit and @walmart,” wrote Hemsworth while sharing a picture of himself outside the retail store holding a Centr Workout kit.
