The use of steroids is a persistent issue prevailing in the bodybuilding sphere over the decades. Moreover, it often extends beyond consumption by athletes and into the entertainment world, too. Filmstars willing to transform, to appear shredded for their roles, is one primary reason for using PEDs. They took this topic in one of the Joe Rogan Experience episodes a few months back.

The interview featured the renowned UFC commentator Joe Rogan and popular bodybuilder, Derek, who rose to fame from his podcast venture, More Plates More Dates. The two discussed Hollywood actors Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth’s physique transformations and speculated about if steroids aided them. Below is what they said:

In the podcast interview, the 55-year-old TV host asked Derek if Jason Momoa was “on the sauce” during his role as the superhero, Aquaman. He responded with a hesitant reply but ended up stating that he probably did a “little something” for his peak superhero role. Yet, he didn’t deny that Momoa had naturally hefty proportions, but to attain such a transformation, it is “safe to assume” that it was enhanced.

Rogan once starred in Andrew Schulz’s podcast and confessed Hemsworth to be the “hottest man,” even though he lists on his notorious list of Hollywood celebrities using steroids. Yet Rogan admired his great work ethic and hailed him for putting in all the hard work.

His point of concern with the issue is that celebrities do not openly address their dependence on PEDs. Thus, making it seem natural to fans and giving false expectations. However, he even defended their stance by stating that simply taking steroids cannot define their entire transformation. It also requires a certain amount of hard work and dedication to achieve the same.
