Getting a good coach can be life-altering in the realm of bodybuilding. Without proper guidance or discipline, many bodybuilders have drifted far away from completing their goals, from triumphing in their contests. The four-time Mr. Olympia, Chris Bumstead, had been fortunate to have Iain Valliere as his trainer. Almost a year later, CBum talks about it in public.

Iain had accompanied Bumstead since the beginning of his career. Related as a brother-in-law, he found him exceptionally close to Chris and supported him with all his heart. Why did they stop working together then?

Chris Bumstead unveils the real reason behind changing his coach

In an Instagram reel posted by @flex_lewis, CBum reported the truth behind such a change in his training. Quite used to as he was with his coach Valliere, CBum started noticing how his coach weighed his career over Iain’s own. “I knew the last Olympia, it took away from his Olympia. He enjoyed his less because he was worrying about me. He was never gonna tell me.”

Christ confessed, “He was never gonna tell me ‘I can’t coach you’ because he was there for me no matter what. But I didn’t want to take that away from him…”. With no intentions of holding him back, CBum let his coach go. Iain Valliere, a Canadian Professional Bodybuilder continues to contest in Mr. Olympia and has very good connections with Bumstead.

After letting Valliere go, he desperately needed a new coach to guide him and take him to the top. That’s when he started to have words with Hany Rambod.

After leaving Valliere, Bumstead approached Hany. The latter, “just talked to me about a crazy mental and physical tranformation.” Rambod was called back again in August and asked to fully coach Chris, and he was indeed Chris’s official coach for 2022 Mr Olympia. Both of them have continued working together.

What Bumstead found, “best for both” might actually have been a thorough decision. Both of the bodybuilding beasts showed the competitive industry how friendship can prevail and despite all hardships and aspirations, people can still look out for each other.
